HOLCIM BELGIUM ACCELERATES ITS TRANSITION TOWARDS A LOW-CARBON FUTURE WITH NEW STRATEGIC LEADERS
Holcim Belgium is proud to announce the appointment of Claudia Albertini as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) starting mid-January 2026, and the arrival of Yves Mataigne as Cement Commercial Director. These strategic appointments reaffirm the company's strong commitment to pursuing its ambitious decarbonization roadmap and achieving the objective of 100% net cement sales from the ECOPlanet range by 2030.

Confirmed expertise to anchor the Net Zero strategy
The arrival of the German-Italian Claudia Albertini's arrival marks a key step in the strategic continuity of Holcim Belgium, aligning with the Holcim Group's global strategy, NextGen Growth 2030.
This strategy is locally embedded in the revolutionary GO4ZERO project at the Obourg production site. GO4ZERO is recognized as the Holcim Group's global flagship project for decarbonization, as it aims to build Europe's first net-zero cement plant by 2030. The project integrates breakthrough technologies such as Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and is the perfect illustration of the Group's ambition to eliminate CO₂ emissions from cement production.
Claudia Albertini holds extensive expertise, with over 25 years of experience in various leadership roles within the Holcim Group. Her appointment is a guarantee of experienced leadership to steer the company's transition toward a carbon-free and profitable future.
"Holcim Belgium truly feels like coming home. I am honored to assume the role of CEO, and I look forward to collaborating with all my colleagues to achieve our ambitious goals, especially by accelerating the circularity and decarbonization of our products."

"Now that I know Claudia is coming back, I am confident that Holcim Belgium is in very good hands. Her appointment reflects the importance that the Holcim Group attaches to further strengthening Holcim Belgium."

Strengthening the commercial advantage of decarbonized products
To support the growth of its low-carbon offering, Holcim Belgium also welcomes Yves Mataigne as Cement Commercial Director. A trained engineer, Yves Mataigne brings extensive experience in sales and market management, having held key roles at Heidelberg Materials, notably as Marketing Manager Cement Benelux and Commercial Director for East African Region.
A unique commercial differentiator
Holcim Belgium's commitment is realized through differentiation based on the offering of trusted low-carbon and circular products. The objective for 2030 is to cover a 10-million-ton cement market across the Benelux and Northern France, positioning the ECOPlanet range as the market benchmark.
"I am eager to help our customers transform their construction practices. The decarbonized offer we will have before the end of the decade will be a Unique Selling Proposition, particularly for the crucial precast segment, and it is set to change the mindset on how we propose our solutions for the construction market."

Holcim Belgium is thus committed to achieving its objective of 100% net cement sales from ECOPlanet by 2030, relying on this new management team to consolidate its leadership in sustainable construction.
